Americana Highway #87 - August 20, 2006

The 2006 Americana Highway HEMI Awards are full speed ahead...and this week we'll reveal the nominees in three more categories: Favorite Band or Duo, Favorite Song From A Movie and Favorite Local Song.

Join Jack Ryan and he showcases the nominees on this week's program. Then, be sure to come back to the website and cast your votes. Already we've received over 7,000 votes online and an additional 3,500 votes via email. And while in a few of the categories you've made it clear that you've got your run-away favorites, a few categories are very close. So remember to vote!

2006 Americana Highway HEMI AWARDS

They're here! It's time for the 2006 Americana Highway HEMI Awards! This is the way we have of finding out who you think are the best Americana, Bluegrass and Country artists! Each week on the show, Jack Ryan will highlight and showcase some of the nominees in each of the various categories. Then, you'll have a chance to vote for your favorites in each of the categories.

The first categories announced are: Future Female Artist, Future Male Artist and Future Band/Duo. For a complete list of the nominees in these categories, go to the panel to right of this section. There you will also have a chance to vote for your favorites. Online you are limited to one voting session per 24 hour period. But you may also cast a vote by sending the name of your favorite artists to: jack@americanahighway.com.

You may vote right up until we announce the winners during a special edition of The Americana Highway in mid-September. You can also view a list of the current vote-getting leaders for the online portion of the voting process. We'll also periodically update you as to who is receiving the most votes via email.
