Americana Highway - April 2, 2006

Texas Music! Singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State are the showcase this week on WIVK's Americana Highway with Jack Ryan. If you like a little Western Swing mixed in with your Texas Two-Step with a dash of Honky Tonk and maybe even a smidge of the Blues...then this week is your week on The Americana Highway. Jack Ryan will be highlighting some great Texas Tunes including new music from Willie Nelson, The Dixie Chicks, James Hand, Kris Kristofferson, Randy Foster, Copperhead, Lee Roy Parnell and Miranda Lambert. Plus, you'll also hear our tribute to the late great...and Texas native...Buck Owens. The country legend who defined the Bakersfield Sound passed away on March 25th and we'll remember the pride of Sherman, Texas with perhaps his most autobiographical song: "The Streets Of Bakersfield".

  • I Gotta Get Drunk by The Little Willies
  • Don't Water It Down by Lee Roy Parnell
  • Angeline by Brian Keane
  • New Strings by Miranda Lambert
  • You And Me And San Antoine by Wild Horses
  • Wherever You Are by Jack Ingram
  • You Don't Know Me by Willie Nelson
  • Nowhere In The Neighborhood by Jace Everett
  • The Plan by The Great Divide
  • Not Ready To Make Nice by Dixie Chicks
  • Stay A Little Longer by Copperhead
  • Prove Me Right by Radney Foster
  • Riding With Private Malone by David Ball
  • The Last Thing To Go by Kris Kristofferson
  • That's What Your Love Does by Kerry Harvick
  • Baby Baby Don't Tell Me That by James Hand
  • Lonestar Tears by Gary Kyle
  • King Of My Castle by Matt Jenkins
  • Pennies On The Railroad Track by Jessie Lee Miller
  • The Streets Of Bakersfield by Buck Owens & Dwight Yoakam

Really enjoyed this Americana Highway! I don't usually listen to it (past my bedtime lol!)
But as a true Texan I had to stay up and it was worth it! Thanks!
